Welcome to the Cambridgeshire SETPOINT Website

SETPoint Cambridgeshire is part of a National network of SETPOINT's throughout the UK. We are here to act as a link between education and industry. Our aim is to provide information and support activities which enhance and enrich the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathamatics (STEM) curriculum. Through the Science and Engineering Ambassador Scheme young people are encouraged to pursue STEM subjects and discover careers in the STEM world of work. We are responsible for all schools in Cambridgshire.

Nuffield Science Bursary Scheme
The Nuffield Science Bursary Scheme is for students in the first year of their A-level course. The scheme gives them the opportunity to join a real research project with practising scientists in any area of STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), that interests them. Projects run for four to six weeks in the summer vacation and students receive £75 a week bursary.
SETPoint Cambridgeshire are looking for hosts to provide projects for our Nuffield Science Bursary applicants for a period of at least 4 weeks over the summer. These are not work placements, but projects which provide the students with experience of scientific research in STEM fields, which have well defined outcomes achievable within the time available and which will contribute to the work of the host organization.
We welcome hosts from academic, commercial and industrial organisations.
